Evelyn Sharma is a beauty with a heart of gold!

She started ‘Seams for Dreams’ to help the less fortunate and we can say that the 3rd Garage Sale of the charity, which took place on October 4th, 2016, was quite a success too. We caught up with the pretty Evelyn Sharma and found out more about the event and also her future plans.

Here is an exclusive chat with Evelyn Sharma at Currentriggers.com:

Evelyn, how has been the response from the industry towards Seams for Dreams so far? Are you happy?

The response that we have received has been positively overwhelming as we received a lot of support from the fashion and film industry with their kind clothing donations and also their presence and participation in the 3rd Garage Sale that happened on the 4th of October,2016 Tuesday at Olive Bar and Kitchen in Bandra West. I am so happy as since we started Seams for Dreams on the 12th of July last year, it has been one full year of fashion fundraising events and charity activities in various locations in India that led us to the 3rd edition this year in Mumbai wherein more and more donations of quality first-hand clothes, designer labeled outfits, celebrity fashion pieces, and movie costumes have been given to us for all to see and purchase. All proceeds from the event would be reversed to the people in need in India – 100,000 of whom are part of our mission to be clothed and provided for, one layer at a time.

For someone so young, you chose to give your time to charity. Who and what inspired you to start Seams For Dreams?

My love for fashion and the people of India are the main inspirations for me to start Seams for Dreams. Together with a team of great people from Seams for Dreams, we are trying to use the universal love for fashion to create a ripple of change that will touch the lives of many people in India who need clothing and attention. I believe that it is time for us to give back in style and to be able to do this as soon as possible to be able to make a bigger impact starting in India and eventually to the rest of the world in the next couple of years to come.

As a celebrity what would you like to tell your fellow celebrities to convince them to join your cause?

A lot of my fellow celebrities in the film and fashion industry have already pledged their support and donations to Seams For Dreams since we started our first Garage Sale last year in August 2015 and we are just glad that it did not take much of an effort for us to convince other celebrities and influencers to support and donate their key fashion pieces for the 3rd Garage Sale this 4th of October,2016 as the buzz in the fashion and film circle has circulated well in favor to our good cause and intentions. All of our celebrity friends have their movie costumes and fashion pieces that they do not wear anymore, and it was natural for them to give away their fashion pieces, knowing that what they donate will be redistributed and sold by Seams for Dreams and the funds raised will go to the people who rightfully deserve to receive them.

The Garage Sale featured garments from celebrities and designers. Your favorite?

One of my favorite pieces that were on sale at the event is the iconic black dress that designer Kresha Bajaj donated, which was worn by Deepika Padukone for the cover of FHM in July 2014. This dress and many other iconic fashion pieces, movie costumes, and designer clothing were up for grabs for all who came to the event and assisted our mission in raising funds.

Your fans would love to know about when they could see you on the big screen? Which projects are you working on, including events and photoshoots?

I have an upcoming film with Amit Sadh and one more project that will start shooting in Europe this October, plus fashion fundraising activities spread out in the next couple of months which are in line with Seams for Dreams this year.
