Freethinker killed in Bangladesh, Taslima blasts Hasina

Taslima Nasreen, Bangladesh, Atheist, Freethinker, blogger, killed, Sheikh Hasina,

New York, April 8, 2016: Another Freethinker and a Jagannath University student Nazimuddin Samad was hacked and then shot dead in Dhaka’s Sutrapur, Bangladesh.

The killers also chanted Islamic slogan “Allahu Akbar” or ‘God is Great’ after they killed him and fled the scene. He was attacked at around 9pm this Wednesday (April 6, 2016) at the Ekrampur intersection.

Nazimuddin was just born on June 16, 1989 and his Facebook profile shows that he was living in Sylhet area of Bangladesh. In the religion column of his Facebook profile, he had written:

“I have no religion.I am not a muslim nor a hindu-buddist or cristian.I am just a Homo sepience,a human being which originated by natural selection. I survived same as other animals & plants & rolling over them because of my intelligence which is also a result of natural selection.”

This recent attack on Freethinker activists and Atheists show the lack of tolerance in Bangladeshi society. Reports after reports have come out that have shown the terrifying state of the country and the government is failing to control these attacks.

Meanwhile, hateful comments on the dead Freethinker Nazimuddin Samad are floating on social media that give a rare glimpse into the state of mind of an average radicalized Bangladeshi Muslim. Here are two examples:

This recent killing angered Taslima Nasreen and she even called the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina an Islamic fundamentalist.

She even wrote:

Another atheist blogger Nazimuddin Samad was hacked to death by Islamists in Bangladesh. No, govt won’t take any action against the killers.

It is yet known whether Taslima Nasreen knew that the murdered Freethinker Nazimuddin Samad was also a reluctant supporter of Awami League who is led by none other than Sheikh Hasina.

Bangladesh has seen several cases of minority persecutions in recent times and several Atheists and Freethinkers have been killed brutally by Islamists.
